We had a very close connection with this project as it was once our great grandfather's barn. Not only were the two Block brothers working on this project, but also our father's cousin who shared the same connection. We had our work cut out for us. The roof had failed many years before and had taken its toll on the barn. The roof structure was replaced on the front side. The barn was propped up on piles of stone and had no real foundation when we started. The crew worked their way around the barn replacing the sills and hand laid a stone foundation underneath. The floor was patched where needed and the doors were re-attached. The barn has been given an extension on its already long life.
